Shanene

Veterinarian Technician

Shanene

Growing up in Walnut Creek, CA, with her parents and sister, Shanene always knew she would one day grow up to work with animals. There’s just something so fulfilling and rewarding about being a voice for the voiceless!

Shanene’s career journey began by chance when she was hired as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic in 2006. Over the years, she worked her way up to the role she’s in now. Shanene joined Montecito Animal Clinic as a veterinary technician in 2019. She is well loved by her colleagues, clients, and patients alike.

Sasha

Veterinarian Technician

Sasha

Sasha has always been the type of person who loves solving puzzles and finding solutions to problems. As a veterinary technician, she gets to put her innate detective skills to work every day, uncovering what’s ailing our patients and coming up with the perfect solution to get them back on the path to good health. Sasha is honored to be able to help fur babies live their best lives!

Initially, Sasha started college as a business major, but within weeks found she was bored out of her mind. Out of curiosity, and because she’d always loved animals and science, she decided to take a few animal science classes. She also began working at a local vet hospital during her summer breaks. The experience convinced her to switch majors.

After graduating with her bachelor’s in animal science, Sasha moved around a bit, working at different clinics, and trying to decide where to settle down. She ended up in Pacheco, joined the Montecito Animal Clinic team, and the rest is history! Professionally, Sasha enjoys treatments and procedures that provide instant relief for the patient and instant gratification for her, like extracting a bad tooth or popping an abscess.

Outside of the clinic, Sasha lives with her boyfriend, Jonathan, and their daughter, Hunter. The family has a plethora of pets, including two dogs (Charlie and Wendy), one cat (Kona Mae), three desert tortoises (Harriet, Giselle, and Belinda), two chickens (Rosa and Cleo), and a couple of tanks of fish. When she’s busy working, you can usually find Sasha enjoying time outdoors with the family, especially beach days and zoo outings. She also enjoys hiking, reading, eating, and catching up on good shows and movies.

Brittany

Veterinarian Assistant

Brittany

Brittany knew from a very young age that she wanted to work with animals. She spent most of her adolescence and teenage years as a member of her local 4-H club, was active in multiple animal groups raising chickens, pygmy goats, and pocket pets, and was big into dog obedience. When the time came for her to start working, it was without question she would end up in the veterinary field.

Brittany’s career began in 2003, right here at Montecito Animal Clinic, where she would spend the next four years learning and gaining valuable hands-on experience before life circumstances landed her elsewhere. Sixteen years later, Brittany has returned to what she affectionately calls her “home” practice, and she couldn’t be happier!

Professionally, Brittany loves just about every aspect of her job, though taking x-rays and assisting with dental cleanings are at the top of the list. She takes tremendous pride in delivering exceptional client service, and it shows in everything she does.

Outside of the clinic, Brittany has a daughter named Sophia, who is the light of her life and quickly following suit with her mom’s crazy love for animals. The two share their home with a cat named Elvis, a beta fish named Frank, and two frogs. Brittany spends most of her spare time with Sophia, cooking, listening to music, going on walks, spending time by the water, fishing, and just hanging out.

Nicole

Receptionist

Nicole

Having worked in customer service for several years, Nicole had developed a knack for helping people. When it came time for a change of scenery at her prior job, she thought, “what if I could get a job where I could continue helping others while also cuddling animals?” As one of our amazing receptionists here at Montecito Animal Clinic, Nicole has officially found the best of both worlds!

In addition to being one of the friendly faces you see as you come and go from the clinic, Nicole also frequently lends a hand to the doctors and other team members as needed. Her favorite part of the job, though, is when patients come to visit her behind the desk and give her kisses.

Outside of work, Nicole has two fur babies of her own: Kilo and Bailey. They’re the best of friends and when they’re not welcoming Nicole home with booty wiggles, you can usually find them playing or snuggling with each other. One of Nicole’s favorite activities is taking the dogs on long walks. She also enjoys eating out and trying new foods and drinks.

Bianca

Receptionist

Bianca

Animals have always been an important part of Bianca’s life. As she got older, she knew she wanted a career that would allow her to help other people who loved their pets as much as she did. Having been a client of Montecito Animal Clinic since 1994, it seemed like the best place to get started. As one of our rock star receptionists, Bianca is the smiling face that welcomes our clients and patients to the clinic.

At home, Bianca has one dog of her own – a German Shorthaired Pointer named Annalise, who loves to take naps in the sun and play hide and seek with her bones. No stranger to the breed, Bianca has rescued and fostered German Shorthaired Pointers through Nor Cal GSP Rescue since she was younger. She also has two very fluffy kitties named Ponyo and Cartman, who she loves very much.
