Michelle

Office Manager

P.J.

With over 25 years of dedicated service at Montecito Animal Clinic, PJ is the heart of our team. As Office Manager, she ensures the daily operations of the clinic run smoothly, supporting both clients and staff with compassion, efficiency, and a deep love for animals.

PJ’s long-standing relationships with clients and her wealth of experience make her an invaluable resource for both pet owners and team members alike. Whether she’s coordinating appointments, answering questions, or offering a friendly smile at the front desk, PJ brings warmth and professionalism to everything she does.

Outside the clinic, PJ is married and a proud mom of two boys. Her oldest is currently in college, and her youngest keeps her busy on the baseball field as a high school player. When she’s not cheering from the stands, PJ loves spending time with family and friends or relaxing at home with her beloved dogs, enjoying some quiet moments and cuddles.

Sasha

Veterinarian Technician

Sasha

Sasha has always been the type of person who loves solving puzzles and finding solutions to problems. As a veterinary technician, she gets to put her innate detective skills to work every day, uncovering what’s ailing our patients and coming up with the perfect solution to get them back on the path to good health. Sasha is honored to be able to help fur babies live their best lives!

Initially, Sasha started college as a business major, but within weeks found she was bored out of her mind. Out of curiosity, and because she’d always loved animals and science, she decided to take a few animal science classes. She also began working at a local vet hospital during her summer breaks. The experience convinced her to switch majors.

After graduating with her bachelor’s in animal science, Sasha moved around a bit, working at different clinics, and trying to decide where to settle down. She ended up in Pacheco, joined the Montecito Animal Clinic team, and the rest is history! Professionally, Sasha enjoys treatments and procedures that provide instant relief for the patient and instant gratification for her, like extracting a bad tooth or popping an abscess.

Outside of the clinic, Sasha lives with her boyfriend, Jonathan, and their daughter, Hunter. The family has a plethora of pets, including two dogs (Charlie and Wendy), one cat (Kona Mae), three desert tortoises (Harriet, Giselle, and Belinda), two chickens (Rosa and Cleo), and a couple of tanks of fish. When she’s busy working, you can usually find Sasha enjoying time outdoors with the family, especially beach days and zoo outings. She also enjoys hiking, reading, eating, and catching up on good shows and movies.

Phylicia

Registered Veterinary Technician

Phylicia

Starting a new job on New Year’s Eve might seem unusual, but for Phylicia, it was the perfect way to kick off 2025—with a fresh start at Montecito Animal Clinic! As a registered veterinary technician, Phylicia is passionate about providing top-notch care for her patients and educating pet parents to ensure their furry family members stay happy and healthy.

Phylicia first stepped into the veterinary world in 2021 when she attended Carrington College to become an RVT, and she’s been hooked ever since. She’s a self-proclaimed dental nerd (there’s just something so satisfying about transforming a tartar-filled mouth into a sparkling clean smile). Surgery is another favorite, but honestly, Phylicia loves every aspect of her job and jumps at any opportunity to expand her skills.

Outside of work, Phylicia shares her home with her senior pup, Chloe (a chihuahua mix with plenty of sass), and two fabulous felines—Rey Meowpatine and Floof. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her at a concert, soaking up the magic of Disneyland, or just unwinding at home with her furbabies and a good TV show.

Susana

Veterinarian Assistant

Susana

Susana spent years working full-time at Montecito Animal Clinic and loved it so much, she just couldn’t quit us! Now she’s our weekend wonder, keeping Saturdays running smoothly with her big heart and love for animals. When she’s not at work, she’s likely out on a hiking trail, soaking up sunshine and fresh air, or snuggled up with her cat.

Nicole

Receptionist

Nicole

Having worked in customer service for several years, Nicole had developed a knack for helping people. When it came time for a change of scenery at her prior job, she thought, “what if I could get a job where I could continue helping others while also cuddling animals?” As one of our amazing receptionists here at Montecito Animal Clinic, Nicole has officially found the best of both worlds!

In addition to being one of the friendly faces you see as you come and go from the clinic, Nicole also frequently lends a hand to the doctors and other team members as needed. Her favorite part of the job, though, is when patients come to visit her behind the desk and give her kisses.

Outside of work, Nicole has two fur babies of her own: Kilo and Bailey. They’re the best of friends and when they’re not welcoming Nicole home with booty wiggles, you can usually find them playing or snuggling with each other. One of Nicole’s favorite activities is taking the dogs on long walks. She also enjoys eating out and trying new foods and drinks.
